ABOUT THE BOARD
Corby Towns Deal Board Members
North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) are seeking to refresh and update a number of seats on the Corby Town Deal Board. The Corby Town Deal Board was established in connection to the Town Fund Guidance (see additional information) with its inaugural meeting taking place in January 2020. This Board comprises of individuals from various businesses, community groups and public sector bodies etc. The Board includes local MP, town council representatives and NNC representation as a mandatory requirement.
In June 2021, NNC was successfully awarded £19.9m through the Town Fund for four projects which aimed to encourage economic growth in the local area:
Corby Sixth Form at Chisholm House (allocated £9.5m, complete September 2023)
Smart and Connected Corby (allocated £0.31m, complete July 2024)
Town Centre to Train Station Link Road (allocated £8.59m, due to complete October 2025)
Multi-use Building (allocated £1.5m, due to complete summer 2026)
Although not a legal entity, Board members, working in partnership with NNC as the accountable body, are expected to identify issues and priorities to develop and oversee the above projects through to completion.
NNC would like to continue the success of the Corby Town Deal Board. To achieve this, we are looking for voluntary representatives to join the Board and bring their skills and local knowledge to assist with the development and completion of the Town Fund projects. Expressions of interests are invited from individuals who can reflect and represent different sectors across Corby such as communities, business, charity, culture, educational and heritage interests of the area and can make a meaningful contribution to the Board.
The Board currently meets every 12 weeks, the Chair and all Board Members will be expected to comply with the Corby Town Deal Board’s Code of Conduct which are available to view by click on the ‘Corby Town Deal Handbook’ on the top right hand side of this page.
Expressions of Interest
The Expression of interest (EOI) form should outline relevant experience and attributes and be submitted to NNC by email at townsfund@northnorthants.gov.uk .
